Self-Love Roots
Intro
If your goal is to live true to you, a healthy foundation of self-love is required.
We are wired for relationships, and an important one that we often forget to intentionally develop is our relationship to self.
You cannot outperform your own self-worth. Without self-love, you cannot express yourself authentically, or even love others unconditionally. When you choose self-love, your inner judge turns into a coach and your life opens up.
In this tool, you will plant seeds of self-love you can practice daily. It touches every area of life.
Instructions
- What does self-love look like to you? This is designed to be an open question. Write down anything that comes to mind.
- Pull up a childhood photo and notice qualities you see in younger you.List at least 3 qualities you notice. Tip: ask a parent or past caregiver for qualities to describe you as a child and stories that go with them.
- Holding that image, what does self-love feel like in your body?Focus on your body and describe anything you notice, from sensations within your body to shifts in your breath or posture.
- What does being a good friend to yourself look like right now?Reflect on the ways you could show yourself more love, getting specific about anything you need to do more (or less) of.
- What adjustments can you make, to deepen your self-love roots?Reflect on any adjustments you can make. If you can, design one habit you’re ready to commit to and add it to your Pacts.
